This is a very famous double page spread, where Cheryl Cole has taken herself out of her comfort zone, and done the photoshoot in the style of the film 'Sin City', I think this portrays her in a different light and therefore could make her more appealing to a wider audience. Although I would have liked to imitate this image, I think I would struggle to re-create such a famous and experienced shoot. In addition to this I like the use of the large red C used as a background to the text, this re-enforces Cheryl Cole and breaks the text up slightly. 
One of my favourite double page spreads is that of Kings Of Leon in a copy of NME. I think the layout, although simplisitic is very effective. The use of many different fonts in the large title ensures different amounts of emphasis on different words. I think I would like to imitate this double page with the band that I am using. However I would like to try and include different sections of text to make the article more interesting, such as 'Their Inspiring Songs' etc.
