Philadelphia



I have chosen Philadelphia as it focuses on the lawyer's story and the court room situation. There is also a great scene when Denzel Washington's charater is being told about the case and he is making the decision on weather he wants to take the case or not. This is alot like what I am planning on doing for my opening to my film. This is a good film for me to analyse as it has a lot of dialogue, a lot like my clip.

The begging of philadelphia sets the scene of the film by having lots of shots of New York City and all the different large office building and skyscrapers. The sceme then starts with Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington are both in the judge's office and are debating on whether or not they want to take a case to court or not. This shows the realtionship between the two of them and how they behave with each other. From the first five minutes you are able to tell what these characters think of each other. You can tell that Tom Hanks' is character is the more dominate character and is winning the argument between the two charcters.
