Existing Mag Research

Before I started to create my own magazine I researched existing music magazines. The first magazine I looked at was NME. Which is a weekly music mag, that started in 1952 meaning it has a large fan base due to its popularity throughout the years it has been sold. It features mainly rock and indie music, looking at bands like The Libertines, Interpol and My Chemical Romance. I did more research into the designs of the magazines, but first I got some information on the readers of NME;

• 79% of readers like to listen to new bands
• 63% of readers choose to listen to mainly indie bands
• Target market; MALE 17-30
• Average age- 25
