I decided to choose quite a muted colour scheme so as to appeal to my target audience. I decided on quite a deep blood red and a contrasting pale blue as my main colours and used black and white as accent colours.I decided to call my magazine "Headline" as in a headlining band at a concert. The first thing I did was positioned my title across the top. There was a slight problem with my picture because originally there was no room to place my title. To solve this, I copied and pasted sections from the background and placed the at the top to create space. The thing I liked most about this picture is the negative space down the right hand side. I took full advantage of this and placed my artists name along there so that it would stand out bold against the black and attract people's attention. I intend to add more text here containing other important stories featured in the magazine. As I have quite a busy background I added a circular background behind the text on the left so that it would be visible. I had to do this as too much text down the right hand side would make the front cover look unbalanced. Aswell, "on their latest track" inside the circle has a stroke around it so that it stands out on the red background. Around the circle and along the bar at the bottom of the page I added an inner shadow and also embossed it to make it more eyecatching and aesthetically pleasing.
