Evalutation Question Seven

LOOKING BACK AT YOUR PREMLIMINARY TASK (THE SCHOOL MAGAZINE TASK), WHAT DO YOU FEEL YOU HAVE LEARNT IN THE PROGRESSION FROM IT TO FULL PRODUCT?

i think over the time i've been creating my coursework, i've learnt a lot about what media distributers there are out there, how they sell there media and all the affecting components that can affect the consumer market out there.

i've also gained a lot of skills on the computer, being in photoshop, publisher and pulling together a magazine composition.

on the left hand side is my front cover of my coursework, and on the right is my preliminary task front cover. as you can clearly tell, there's been a lot more time and effort put into the image on the right rather than the left, and there is not as many colours on the image on the right.

Although i was rather pleased with my preliminary cover, as i think the whole composition works well with the bold-one-colour style, plain background, and clear pretty image off Sophie, i think the cover on the right is just so much more effective and would sell more.

There is an clear amount more of detail (like the side boxes) in the coursework cover and everything looks more put together and fitted to size, rather than just dropped on the page.. this creates a more united atmosphere which is something the music industry thrives on. My titles is a lot smaller too, so it doesn't take up half the page like the preliminary task.

its the same situtation here too, as you can tell, alot more effect and attention to detail has gone in to the contents page seen on the left hand side (my coursework) rather than the contents on the right hand side (my preliminary task). the 'contents' on the left side looks alot more professional than the one on the right, which i think looks childish and tacky. on the left, there is also sections unlike the one on the right, which just looks like one big picture. There was also alot more attention to typography in the contents on the left than the contents on the right, as the contents on the right looks as if it had been done within 20 minutes.

i think both pieces of coursework look far more professional than the preliminary task pieces,

but i'm proud of all of it!
