Front Cover Continued

Next I decided to create the title for the main feature of the magazine - the story about my cover artist Ashley. I decided to use one of my texts that I would of used for the heading for this, as I had already established that it would have the right look for the rock genre of the magazine. The one I chose to use came second in my poll of which text was better and is called 'Should've Known' with 9 votes. This is what it looks like:

I used this font to write it name of my artist in big, bold letters to make it stand out to the audience. I also put it in red to match the colour scheme and added a drop shadow using Photoshop to give it more depth against the background:

Here is the name so far:

I then needed to make this into a feature story rather than just her name, so I decided to add a tagline to generate interest from the readers. My line will be 'Rocks first lady reveals all...'. This creates suspense as the readers will want to know that she is revealing, and also calling her 'Rocks first lady' appeals to my target audience and genre, it is also a memorable name for her. I also added 'Exclusive!' above the story to make it seem exciting and a never-seen-before story. Here are the additions:

I created these using the paintbrush tool and roughly painting the background in. I did this to make the white text stand out from the background and also because I think it gives off a rugged rock look, much like my title does. It also reminded me of the text used Lily Allen Kerrang! cover, which I thought was very effective. Here is the front cover with these changes added:
